Hilux

Ahhh… the Toyota 22R motor.  An invincible piece of engineering simplicity & genius.  Once drove one cross-country, fully loaded, on only 3 cylinders ~ the 4th cylinder had very, very low compression (warn rings ~ why on only one piston I'll never know).  Other than heating up a bit in the mountains & using a little oil, …it drove like a champ.  Can’t say enough about that motor.

(For the enthusiasts.)  Ended up having a machine shop clean the pistons, then replaced all the rings, head & intake gaskets, and the bearings since we had it apart.  I do miss that truck.  Funny the winds of change:  Haven't taken a wrench to a motor in years.
