What David is trying to say, Jeff is that the essential difference between a MAJOR sound and a minor sound is the Flatted 3rd in the minor. It goes further than that with the 3 main types of minor scale (and there's a whole bunch of modes), but we needn't go there. Mi indeed......and I thought we were talkin' jazz here. Next thing you know, he's gonna be saying Major/mineur, dur/moll and all that other fluffy classical stuff....
