Musix and poltix don't mix, I've found. At least not for me. Music makes me happy, politics makes me bad. I recall most of us who shared Burn Units enjoyed that, but they are somewhat labor intensive and there is some cost involved with mailings, packaging etc..
I"ve got another idea. Pick one or maybe 2 things (here I mean single tracks, not entire CD's) that you are listening to currently that you would like to share, and upload 'em to SENDSPACE. The reason I like SENDSPACE is you can upload the WAV file if you wish (instead of just MP3), so the music track can be heard with good fidelity. You will need a SENDSPACE membership (you will only need the FREE version for this endeavor). You upload your 2 tracks (more or less if you wish) then...simply post the link here on the board (which will allow everyone here to access it, plus you won't need to Email the link to each person individually). Anybody clicking on your link can then download the track onto their computer simply for listening or saving to a music file. We can do these at any time, whenever the whim strikes. It would be great if the things you share are a little, "outside the box". By that, I mean offerings that you think others might not have heard or be familiar with. No holds barred....acoustic, electric, loud, quiet, noise, electronica, spoken word, jazz, anti-jazz, classical, cuntry, bluegrass, zydeco, bagpipes, choirs, birds chirping, storms....There is a space on the UPLOAD section of SENDSPACE to add a comment about the track, or you could include that info here when you offer your selections for the gang. Just post it as: Music Share Alert. Cool?
