"I would switch over to solar panels in a heartbeat...even if it cost more in the end... This stuff should have been done years ago...But my main concern is (how well) do these panels hold up in a large hail storms? Ive been doing alittle reading on the internet on the subject...Being from the mid-west we avg. at least a couple hail storms a year...not always bad...But 2 yrs ago we suffered about 4000.00 damage on a truck..and now everytime it storms...its a dash to get everything undercover...so this is a main concern for me...if anyone one the board has any experince with solar let me know!"
I have practically zero experience on the subject, but this seems to me like a huge market just waiting for the right innovation. Is there a race on to develop solar panels that somehow are protected from the occasional harshness of the environment? I would love to know about that.Maybe there could be shutters installed on the panels, like the ones in Andrea's house (she mentioned earlier), that could close to protect them.Or maybe panels could be made to flip over somehow, protecting the "money" side.A growth industry? Probably!Herring405
