Well, first let me say I supported Edwards and his fooling around, while sad and a bad idea, did not really sway me on thinking he was a better choice than Obama or Clinton. Regardless, that goose is cooked and probably more people would disagree with me on that topic than agree with me...and I mean across the board Democrats, Republicans, and independents.Anyway, I don't "hate" Palin and I doubt David does either but she does seem like a poor choice in many respects. I'm not sure somebody fresh out of the Wasilla City Council is VP material. It almost seems like the Red Sox grabbing a pitcher from a little league team to start game 7 in the World Series for them. In this way the choice makes no sense and totally contradicts what McCain has built his campaign on, keeping the world safe from terror. She's probably a good pick to attract some voters and make a splash in the media but I don't think she's the person you want one 73 year old heartbeat away from being commander-in-chief...that seems sort of nutty. Of course this running for president thing does seem to be more of a beauty pageant than anything else and she does have plenty of experience there!I think she's a terrible choice in terms of substance and a fabulous choice in terms of grabbing the average voter. People will and are looking at her now and saying "Oh, I like her!" and for a lot of people that wins out over actually being the right person for the job.Obama is pretty thin in the "experience" area too and so he made a pick that makes sense in Biden. If you were to judge McCain and Obama in terms of rating their decisions and judgment in this case...well...Obama seems to have used far better judgment and made a better decision than McCain. This bodes well for an Obama presidency and makes a McCain presidency look like it may be riddled with poor choices.
