I actually think Obama is the victim here.  The dramatic swings we're seeing for McCain are (imho) due to the horrific attacks Palin has had to endure since her nomination. The media has been brutal and relentless. They realize Palin has energized the conservative base and this will NOT bode well for The Messiah or his coronation in November. So, they released the dogs to sniff up (and make up) what ever garbage they could find in order to bring her down. (I also don't believe these attacks are sexist in nature as some republicans are claiming. These attacks would have occured to ANY GOP nominee who poses such a threat. The more popular the nominee the more vicious the attacks. The fact Biden has been left alone proves my point.) Unfortunately, most of middle America are identifying with Palin. She seems to be one of us; a working mom who wants to make the country a better place for everyone. She does not appear (yet) to be a typical politician. So when the media and their comrades at the HuffPo, Kos, etc attack Palin and her family, one's natural reaction is to come to her defense. No one likes a bully and everyone loves the underdog. The polls are beginning to show this mindset.

Obama doesn't know what hit him. The media can't help themselves and they will continue to attack Palin. Unfortunately, Obama will continue to pay dearly for their tenacity. If he wants to halt this slide, he needs to call off the dogs.
