I realise the only person here who would really understand what this means to me is Al, but something I have poured my heart and soul into for the last 18 months is gone.

I had always dreamed of being in the car industry. I finally took the plunge last year, and began work for a brand you would not know in the USA, but which is huge in Europe. SEAT (pronounced Say-at) is a divsion of VW, falling under Audi. I sold them, arranged socials for the awesome people who bought them (the slogan for the cars is auto emocion, which says it all) Helped a racing team which is right now leading the production car racing series by 30 points, and yesterday VWSA announced they are going to stop importing the cars with immediate effect.

Apart from the employment implications, the SEAT community in SA was like an extended family. We saw each other almost every weekend, and lived for our cars. Very sad day for me indeed.
