"what was it about that interview that makes her a buffoon Reg?"

That could take me pages to answer and if you are serious, which I have to question, I'm not sure what to think. Let's just focus on the Bush doctrine bit I posted. One of the most debated political topics and foreign policy positions of our time (and likely for the next 50 years) is and will be the Bush doctrine. For a person that serves in any capacity in the political arena to not even know what the term means is, quite frankly, astounding. Just someone who pays any attention to current events and the problems facing our country and our world would know and understand what it is. For a person who expects to be the Vice President of the United States in a couple months to have no concept of what the Bush doctrine is makes them, yes Marc, a buffoon. A phony, a fake, a stooge, a nitwit, a boob, and utterly unfit to serve. Is it wrong for Billy Redden not to know what the Bush doctrine is? Of course not! He is not nor does he aspire to be the Vice President and possibly President of the United States. Just the fact that you have breached the question with me, Marc, makes me wonder if you are being honest here. I have always tried to be honest with my answers and questions and to afford everybody the same amount of respect when I discuss something serious with them but I get the feeling you are really trying to jerk me around here and let me just tell you openly if that is your intent I am not interested bro! One of the reasons I don't like the Palin pick for VP is specifically because I feel that the choice was made exactly to jerk us all around.

"Also, what's wrong with somebody that doesn't cater to the affluent, the pedigreed or the establishment?"

Nothing, but I will point out none of that describes Sarah Palin. If you think it does do some research. I'm not here to do it for you and also that question also leaves a lot to be desired here.

"That's why she's liked by women and that's what we need."

I don't know what you mean by that statement. It makes very little sense, does not at all say anything about Sarah Palin and reverts back to the argument that the reason to vote for her is women and/or some people find her likable. Are you saying that is what you believe the best qualification for running this country is? You must be likable? Are you saying that we just need a VP that women like and that will solve everything?

"But you seem to think ordinary (read real) people shouldn't be in government and it's the lack of that that IMO has gotten us into this friggin mess to begin with."

How do I "seem to think" that? Also what qualifies a person as being ordinary or real? Am I ordinary or real? Is Obama? Are you? Are you saying George Bush and Dick Cheney are not ordinary or real? A lack of being ordinary or real got us into the mess we're in? No offense, Marc, but this is about as vague as it gets and seems like what you are looking to do here is insult me in some way.

"And if they aren't highly educated, well connected and/or otherwise wealthy power mongers, you relegate them to the dust bin as you so eloquently pointed out with your obviously stereotypical post relating Sarah Palin to Billy Redden (the banjo boy in Deliverence)."

I did no such thing and how you came to that conclusion is beyond me. That was a "joke" post making fun of Palin. She comes across as being from way out in the country and I did not relate her to Redden but rather the song. I did not say that makes her a bad person but yeah, it does not make me interested in seeing her as VP and the more I hear her and read about her the less I like her. I think to be President or Vice President you should be highly educated. I'll absolutely cop to that and when did that become a negative thing? I'm not saying you need to have a piece of paper from Harvard to be intelligent or anything of the sort but you should be bright and educated as far as I'm concerned. If you think somebody without an education, that has no idea what has been going on in the world, and that lies on a regular basis should be eligible to be president...well...that would make for a hell of an interesting country but I would not want to live there. Also I think the point of your post is you think I'm some kind of snob, stuck up, intellectual jerk. Is that what you really want to tell me?

"Mr. Redden by the way, is neither inbred nor retarded. So you lost me with that one too."

Point out where I said he was or even implied it. Or are you admitting you think Palin is "inbred or retarded" and as such we should give her a break? Are you upset because you think I insulted Redden because I compared him to a "retard" like Palin? If you want to make fun of me, make fun of me, if you want to call me names, call me names...but don't try to make it look like I said things I did not.

Tell you what, Marc, why don't you tell me what makes Palin a great choice for VP. Leave out the stuff about "women liking her" because a lot of women like Mel Gibson too (or Hillary Clinton) but I don't want him (or Hillary) to be VP either.
