Actually, come to think of it, Tideland is more like Big Fish off its meds meets David Lynch on his meds.  I got more of a Gilliam feel off Big Fish than Coens.  But I see your point too.  Tideland is worth a look, like looking at a bad car wreck on some moiré and murky night.  Not an easy flick to look at, not at all.  But it feels honest. Innocent in its perversity. Gilliam said (something to the effect of) he was paying homage to the little girl in him.  Sad little girl.  I gave The Bros. Grimm two tries, couldn’t stay focused.  Have to go with Tideland between the two.  But it’s a twisted dark nursery rhyme taught to adults by a child.  You know what though, …for the little girl, considering her possible childhood up to the setting, it’s a kind of optimistic odyssey.  So there’s that.  Little miss Ferland is a heck of a child actor and Jeff Bridges is always a good choice.
