I hear that, Mick.  Ugly currents of samsara run amuck on our heads like a machinegun mallet; a coma of obscuration; bloody eyes, bloody hands, bloody farking horrendous. & yet I bought a little stock this morning at the beginning of a very down day on Wall(mart)  Street. Just some busy li'l small-potatoes international water treatment company that I’m hoping will move independent of the market … unless EVERYTHING turns to shit directly.   ...Better than just lying down, I suppose.

& to be clear:  I wouldn't actually share those sentiments with my son in quite that way.  The entire blurb is meant to be rhetorical.  I mean, it's mostly all information we’ve shared with him over the course of his childhood, but the whole “we’d sell everything we own just to keep the house” downtrodden scenario is not something I’d lay on him or his bro.  No point in that.  Not just yet, anyway…heh.  He’s got more pressing immediate things to worry about, like SATs, ACTs, GPA, football, basketball, band, keyboard lessons, scholarship applications & essays, financial aid, the rising cost of gasoline (& condoms), homework, housework, part-time work, community service, the song he’s composing on piano, fighting the ever-present lure towards the lowest common denominator of peer activities, bad hair days, the list is long…w0w…being a teen can be a busy row to hoe.
