See, I don't get that.  Both are frauds and both ought to be prosecuted.  In the ACORN case, obviously not if the organization purges false names before submitting actual registrations to the government.  But if they let any pass, that ought to be a crime. 

And voter registration drives should not be supported with government money.  Voter registration needs to be scrupulously non-partisan, and it's anything but clear that ACORN is that.

The machine issue looks suspicious, but it's not even clear that there are deliberate problems or if the new item merely caught a glitch. 

I've known too many partisan Democrats in my time to think that they are in any way more honest than the worst Republicans we've seen.  It's just been easier to see the Republican malfeasance recently due to their position of power.
