See, that's how I feel about Wilco, at least the last couple of albums. To me it's a bunch of noodling and self-indulgent "let's see how complicated of a song we can write" kind of thing.

But that's only my opinion, and I'm certainly not here to defend REM. Or Tweedy's ...
