I do recall an old Uncle Tupelo article where the band stated much respect for R.E.M. and would love to model their careers in the same vein. Thanks for your info on roots of Uncle Tupelo. I've never warmed to their respective bands after their demise. I saw the band peform a few times. Owned a few of their discs. Loved them!
