Tony Carey has tweaked his Pink World album just a little for CD release (his words were "very slightly") - and it's out now. I bought mine from ebay. His liner notes are from 10-08 - so this is pretty new stuff (so to speak). Also - and maybe this is more newsworthy - he's posted 2 full length CDs on his site - truebeliever.dk. Go to the downloads section. So - this release of Pink World didn't start my wonderings about remasters, rereleases, etc - that started yesterday during a scan through the music section of best buy. I don't have a good CD store around me - so most of my CD purchases happen online. In such - I don't browse that much - I just get what I'm looking for. Anyway - browsing through the racks - I was surprised by just how much remastering, etc is going on. I'm all for getting the best sounding (or best as the artist intended) release - but all these reworks is making me think of my cd collection as a second rate set. Quick question - has anyone bought a reworked CD and felt like they got their money's worth on the first listen? Reading back over this - I don't intend to sound like a luddite - just trying to gauge the DBIS sentiment.By the way - when's Boomtown coming out in all its remastered with bonus tracks glory!
