I dont agree with sending away white or blue collar jobs ..but we have ..and there a lot of people who think thats a good thing!! cheaper labor..better product..thats a bunch of crap!!I was a labor organizer for UFCW in the late 80s early 90s.. and did alot of hand billing which tried to explain the trickle down affect..remember alot of people thought we were full of shit.. also survived a 2 year strike at a packing facility..when we told we were making to much money..and that we should shut up and go back to work..I was making 14.00 a hour for butchering 950 hogs per hour in 1988..now in 2008.. the starting wage is 7.80 a hour,and doesnt get much better from there ..the facility now is 70 percent Hispanic.. trust me I dont want my old Job back..cause they do treat these people poorly..but they try to make it look like they are the heros for giving these folks a better life...( the large corps only care about the money they make ..and not the worker)....its just ironic how in 1989 when I handed people a flyer and had them laugh in my face!( and I did question myself and wondering if I was wasting my time..and maybe what I was talking about was wrong!)..well I guess we know now...but the point Im making is that we need (both) white and blue jobs to stay here)..and I dont agree that everybody should get a large stimlus..everybody whos able to work should contrubite..but the people who get a refund ..are people who do pay in..it taken out of their checks every week !!..try to pay a babysitter and fuel prices on some of the wages today..I really dont see how some of them make it.
