On today's Fresh Air radio show, there was a good interview with Philippe Sands, an expert on torture prosecution, about the possibility of going after Bush administration officials for advocating and sanctioning torture:

It sounds like there is little likelihood of anybody going after Bush, Cheney or maybe Rumsfeld. On a brighter note, officials further down the ladder, like Wulfowitz, Feith and Gonzales, may as well toss their passports in the trash; they have a good chance of being arrested and charged by some foreign prosecutor if they travel internationally.

The optimal solution, of course, would be for the U.S. to clean this up on its own. Sands hopes that the Obama legal nominees have the stomach for it.
