"Lets just say for example that Christians daily were sending in suicide bombers somewhere in the world because of whatever. Do you not think the media would not ask for the heads of Christian leaders on a platter, or possibly demand a retaliation against this abhorrent behavior?"
I don't think so. For example, if such action came out of a particular church, that leadership and hierarchy would have its feet feld to the fire but not all Christians. Muslims don't even have that much of a hierarchy as Islamic Imams are not so often affiliated in similar ways. As a result, you hear about incendiary things from certain mosques (and there are sometimes connections internationally, particularly through some Saudis), but there isn't an obvious "group" to go after. Other Muslims do not feel particularly connected to the extremists.
My wife, for example, is Catholic. If there were a bombing done by someone from the Methodist church down the street, I don't think either she or I would feel any significant connection or responsibility for it. We'd probably condemn it if asked. Do you see the parallel?
I don't think it has anything to do with a left or right wing bias in the media.
