Holy-smokes!, has it been that long since Digs stretched hiself for sake of a bad day? Yikes! I had the displeasure of seeing one of the more spectacular “recording” bands of this age of music-whatever, Counting Crows, open for the Rolling Stones in what used to be the Hoosier Dome, during the Bridges to Babylon tour. Adam Duritz is an astounding singer-songwriter in the studio … & seems to be a no-shit guy all-round, I’d bag his lunch for him, gladly, but he shits all over the songs in concert for sake of I suppose artistic integrity. Integrity is honorable, certainly, but jeeeeez…leave something to hum to please. Anything. I hope you dig the concert though, @l. Good fucking songs. Let's hope The Who lets them use a few of the lights.

Regarding Chris’s excellent post: To each his euphoric own, bro. I really have never cared about the feud between Roger and David. I love both of their endeavors and would gladly (but not right away, please) die to some of my favorites by both. But Roger, id, ego, superego intact, brings far more than just really excellent layers upon layers of ingeniously multi-tracked ambiance and power to the music scene: he spills soul. Sure, a tightassed English version of soul … but soul nonetheless. & it’s something we stopped yearning for as a people, I believe. Single-minded-bean-counters helped us with that.
