This show captures government work like none other. It portrays how the sickeningly incompetent are continuously promoted and continue to make the lousiest of all decisions, how the mediocre stay employed and how the truly marvelous are buried in a never ending sea of shit and misery. As Neil Young so faithfully sings, "I take my orders from fools".....that is The Wire. And it only gets better in repeated viewings.
