I think we have here a case of keeping the masses entertained so they won't notice the taking away of gains they made during the 50's 60's and 70's.One day we will take our attention away from the hypnotizing TV, look around and see that our house is empty. It started with Reagan firing the aircraft controllers to break their union. It continued when regulations were removed and commercial banks, investment banks, and insurance companies found themselves, for the first time since the great depression, under one roof.Greed, which had been penned by Glass Steagull, broke out with a vengeance.Ayn Rand's permission to self-indulge, to exercise that moral imperative to accumulate wealth, found Wall Street full of John Galt pretenders who invented financial instruments after financial instruments, the ultimate failure of which led to logical consequences one would expect when man has been reduced to a non-feeling rational being incapable of acts of altruism generated from the heart. The depth of the enormity of the greed that dug the economic hole we find ourselves in has yet to be plumbed. And until we turn around, it may never be.
