Tonight I caught a mayfly off of my shirt, and I thought of you as I released it. I played guitar outside and howled a tune up to the sky. I found the squeaky step in our staircase & made it talk. I took the dog down to the lake & let him roll in the tall, tall grass. I made handshadow puppets, delighting most of my boys. I photographed grasshoppers and daddy longlegs, thorny weeds and blossoms. I watched a tiny patch of sunflowers bow its head as the sun went down, getting ready for tomorrow's attention. And I thought of you & yours.
