"We don't like big government. There it is in 5 words."

It seems pretty clear to me that those on the right DO love big government--but whereas the left loves big government for purposes of social spending, the right loves big government for purposes of war spending.

As evidence, I point to the curious phenomenon of continual government growth. Under democrats, under republicans, under democrats again, government just keeps getting bigger. And bigger. And bigger.

The health care thing, the town hall shouting matches--none of this interests me as much as the continuing saga of H.R. 1207 and its companion in the Senate, S604. "Big government" is much more likely to continue and prosper (in its way) under the auspices of an out-of-control Federal Reserve, no matter who is in power, and no matter how many rude people show up at public meetings displaying signs.

But I'm in the minority, I'm sure.
