Eric Just a couple of responses/rebuttals to your points
You ask if the world is a better place without Saddam; certainly it is, however, the Shrub administration sold this war on under a completely different context. He led this country to believe that we were under inevitiable attack if Saddam were left in power. And that such attack would be that of a nuclear variety or that of a severe WMD variety.
I think the wording was of the WOMD variety. I think Mr. Bush knew as the whole world knew that Sadaam had the WOMD at one time and failed to provide sufficient documentation as to they're destruction. He acted on possible overblown information from our intelligence sources on how (imminent this danger is). Eric if you ask Americans on the majority if they feel safer that we are rid of this man the majority will state yes. They will also state that they care not that the WOMD have not yet been found. That stated I see your point about it being the whole reason we went in. A couple of things to remember about George W.
Most if not all press that meet GWB will say he is what he appears to be. There is no pretense about the man. What you see is what you get. That he is honest. You will hear this from both sides of the press (conservative and moderate). The extreme left will attack him no matter what. Am I saying that I dont care he found the WOMD. Certainly not, I believe they will be found eventually. Probably in Iran
I sincerely believe, if Shrub and his people had told the truth from the start not one of our troops in Iraq would be dead and that our attention would have stayed on Al Queda, where it so rightly needs to be.
Does the fact that we have not had one attack on American soil since 9/11/ say something about our effectiveness here in the war on terrorism?
Bush and company fabricated our need to be in Iraq. And to top it off, the Shrub administration has NEVER, I repeat, NEVER, shown a true appreciation for human rights. So it is even more obscene they would use such an argument to justify their action while the fiction of Iraqi WMD blows up in their faces.
I would say removing Hitler II would be an appreciation for human suffering to stop. Would you not agree?
Of course they dont want us over there. They are such a splintered society they dont know what the hell they want.
