The later embroilment couldn't have been a factor in the criticism, obviously, so that's out.

The earlier concept album, with its scene as you say, is exactly what I would expect from an artist who had suffered such a treatment by someone with power over him at a young age. Art is a way of working these things out, after all . . .

So leaving out the later embroilment, which surely you acknowledge couldn't have been a factor in the harsh treatment of this album at the hands of critics, unless said critics had a time machine, what gives?

In short, what is wrong with the music, the story, the performances, etc?

You don't like it; I do . . . maybe that's what it really boils down to.
