Hmmm - Well Reg although I agree about the sentiment, I must object to your statement about David - I do believe that most of us who come here can easily spot a Baerwald song no matter which album it comes from - Yes there are different production techniques at play, but the "heart" of the song is still unique and very Baerwaldian ;-)
Personally I find most of the other artists mentioned in THIS thread rather boring (apart from Leonard Cohen) even if they have their place in rock history, but honestly I wouldnt put any of them nearly as high as David... - but I guess thats what it means to be a true fan... Still my music taste is very diverse (as has hopefully been demonstrated in various posts) and David is one of the very few artists who span the whole range (Peter Gabriel is another).
