this isn't about comparing one artist to another or finding weaknesses in the storytelling. avatar is an incredible and unique work of art and you owe it to yourself to see it... better yet, go with a couple of kids... before long you'll forget you're wearing those geeky glasses because you'll be swept up in the goings-on, however absurd, on the screen before you. sure it has its weaknesses... first and foremost, it's a blockbuster... perhaps it has to be to recoup the millions that were spent making it. but the artistry and genius is clearly apparent despite that fact. i saw best picture winner 'million dollar baby' last night for the first time and was dismayed to find at least two major plot inconsistencies. but i nonetheless enjoyed it... get over yourself and go see avatar...
