"Plus the highly intelligent people of MA must've realized the jeopardy this election would've put health care reform in, eh?"
We've all known the health care reform bill has been in jeopardy for months!
The guy that ran against Coakley in the Democratic primary that all the Democrats now feel should have been their candidate, Mike Capuano, does not support the current healthcare bill because it's got a giant price tag AND DOES TOO LITTLE. The Democrats are not all on board with the bill so Brown is not the "game changer" the national media (and total fucking morons like Keith Olbermann) are making this out to be. This hysterical screaming that Massacusetts killed the healthcare bill is all about a really pissed off DNC whining because a seat they thought they "owned" was taken away from them. Tough shit, they all got it wrong, the Democrats, the National media, a lot led up to this loss and while fear and outrage played a part for some voters there were many other factors that came into play with the more than 2 million people that showed up at the polls.
I do not believe in "brand loyalty politics" and I think in part that is what is fucking this country up. Almost all of our state politicians are Democrats, so pretty much everything in this state that happens is based on the decisions of Democrats, you think they don't fuck up?
I also have pretty much had it with the endless moan of "most of our country is stupid" and when something does not go the way some people want it they brand all those that went against them "ignorant and selfish."
This is what we used to call back in the good ol' days (whenever the hell those were) an excuse...and a shitty one at that.
Also, all of this moaning about Massachusetts "killing" the healthcare bill does not take into consideration that Brown and his people just went out and kicked Coakley's ass. They worked their ass off to win the election while Coakley's campaign and the Democrats sat around like we the people were supposed to grovel and serve the seat up to them on a silver platter. It really does not get much more disgusting than what went on here.
I don't blame anybody for not holding their nose. I do not think the people that voted for Brown are "killing healthcare" and I know they did not vote for Brown because they "hate" Obama or are "racist" as this is some of the dumbest ugliest stuff I've ever heard coming out of so called Democrats mouths.
The healthcare bill has been on shaky ground because the Obama administration did a shit job presenting it and then began gutting it and began wheeling and dealing trying to salvage "any kind of healthcare reform" once they knew they had really got themselves in a pickle. You can't blame any of that on the voters of Massachusetts.
It was a clusterfuck already that they knew was going to be a hard sell and this Massachusetts vote gives the DNC an excuse to take the blame off Obama if it fails, which is really what all this noise about "hate", "killing", "fear" and "ignorance" is about.
It's about blaming everybody else for the failings of the DNC...great, yeah I want to vote for that...
