EEE,Just tonight, my Fox-watching mother-in-law was railing endlessly against that ghastly man, John Edwards, as if he had committed mass murder. Granted, he is a slimy, sleaze ball of the first-order, and his betrayal is contemptible, but he didn't authorize torture, invade Iraq, fail the city of New Orleans, (the list really is endless). I cannot recall any criticism from her of Dubya during his two terms. You are clearly expecting too much of the American public, EEE. Don't bother them with the intricacies of the Federal budget, the enormous challenge of health care reform, or the implications of the SCOTUS ruling on corporate funding of political campaigns, give them a narrative that involves sex, betrayal, and more sex! And no shades of gray that would require critical thinking; it's gotta be black and white, and appeal to the emotions, not the intellect.
