I honestly wasn't going at the credibility of the oped piece itself - just the Bee in general. I can't say that I've been pleased with anything the EPA has done under Bush's tenure - but no one should be surprised either. After Whitman "retired" I gave up on this administration being able to at least TRY on the EPA front. Admittedly, the last 30 years of Republican politics has been a no-mans land as far as the environment is concerned -  but there were a few bright spots sprinkled throughout history like Nixon forming the EPA and passing the Clean Water/Air Act or Roosevelt setting aside more national park land than any other president before or since.

There are Republicans out there who care about the environment, check out http://www.repamerica.org  but be careful when you read the various editorials, you might fall out of your chair.
