I love the tone of the instruments on this album. Anyone have information on the instruments used
and how they were recorded? In particular the bass is fantastic - its been a big influence on my
playing and concept of tone.
I also like the synth sounds. Unlike most 80's music, the synths here don't sound dated at all.
The only thing on that album that sounds *slightly* out of place is the drum machine sounds.
Some
of them work very well (welcome to the boomtown, swallowed by the cracks, etc)
any info is appreciated
if david sees this, I have a slew of questions I'd like to blast the board with regarding
musicianship
stuff. if its innapropriate then lemme know.
I love the album. Had a copy on cassette (remember the BASF chrome tape they used for A&M
cassettes?) and wore it
out 10 years ago. just bought the mp3 album and fell in love all over again so I ordered the CD.
This is the only album I've bought three copies of :)
Bedtime Stories is great too.
