Hello friends,
As sort of a followup to our/my involved discussion (mainly to myself, and I think Pat and Kevin G), a few weeks ago, I bumped into the web site of a dear friend of mine.
John is/was a wonderful doc, who trained with me in Neurology when we were at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, in the mid-80's. He has a no nonsense approach to life, and practice, and can combine compassion with firmness, and the driest wackiest sense of humor this side of the Brazos...or anywhere.
If I were ill (God forbid...but doesn't..), with a neurologic illness, and still lived in Texas, I would drive up to see him, without question. He is a little out of the way, in Amarillo.
Click on his sites, and enjoy. He still looks the same as I remember him. He lived in a student dorm (not an apartment) to save money as a resident, horded the sandwiches they served at Grand Rounds to keep in his fridge for a later date, and tried to cut his hair only once or twice a year...again, to save a little dough.
Be well, Johnnie.
Love,
Geney
