Well, no need to be in awe of me, all I did was say "Hey, how come we can't vacuum this stuff up?" and then Dave did all the heavy lifting. About the execution thing...you know I made a post recently that sort of said the same thing because after watching the 3 stooges from the three responsible companies refer to the "accident" and sort of say things like "Well, it's our oil but not our accident." I kinda blew a gasket. So I know how you feel. I took that post down though because in the end I did not feel I was adding anything to the conversation other than anger and ranting. There is plenty of that on talk radio and tv news shows and I have reached the point where I really don't want to add to that anymore. If I were one of the people in charge of that hearing I would have stopped the proceedings as soon as the word "accident" was used and I would have explained to them that they may not use that word anymore because it does not apply to this situation. This was not an accident, we wanted and needed that oil, they wanted to get that oil, and all three companies intended to make a profit from getting that oil and we all intended to benefit from them getting that oil. This is why I'm not really interested in "guilt" in this case or hanging these guys, as much as seeing them swing was on my mind. The problem is if you fill the air with threats they will automatically resort to a "CYA" process through every means at their disposal. If they get busy covering their big fat greasy ass then it is not likely anything will get done to further prevent this kind of thing in the future. I'd rather just get them to admit this was a major fuck-up, they are all responsible, and will cooperate completely with anything and everything suggested to clean this up and prevent it happening again...on their dime. Don't forget too that they hold almost all the cards and government officials know we need them and what they do to function as a country. I mean they have us by the balls for the foreseeable future and so threats in this case are about as hollow as they come. And guilt...well, let's face it, unless you live off the grid, don't drive a car, grow and harvest all the food you eat, make your own clothes, and never travel further than you can walk or your mule can carry you...well, you shoulder some of the guilt for this too. Granted, Heath and Reg carry far less guilt than the three stooges but we participate in a system we know requires the three stooges exist and we all benefit from that participation. So, in the end while it may make us feel better to hang them, the truth is if we want to "get" all the guilty parties there's a lot of hanging to be done.
