What is happening during these first handful of games? I understand the goalkeeper screw up during England vs. USA. The Italians looked awful for their first game. Brazil had their hands thoroughly full with North Korea, the lowest ranked country in the tournament. Portugal were decidingly mediocre and the worlds most expensive footballer, Ronaldo, had only one decent scoring attempt and got a yellow card. Today Spain, my pick for World Cup winner, lose to that perennial football superpower Switzerland. If this is how odd the rest of the tournament will be I'm going to stop waking up at 3:30 am to watch all the matches live.
