Frankly, neither. I would much rather live in a country where beliefs and practices were on par with the indigenous people of this hemisphere.
As for Pat's claim of no such thing as a "Moderate Islam"...wow.
Guess if we used his standards and likened all conservative Christians to the largest majority of home-grown American terrorists (which in the last 30 years have been, gasp, hard line conservative religious nuts - Eric Rudolph, Tim McVeigh, all the abortion clinic bombers, the last few assassins most recently the guy who flew the plane into the IRS building, or the guy just stopped with a bunch of explosives in his car. Hm, not a leftist among them, huh?) it would fit right in line with his thought process.
