I could not get into these two books and did not finish them....yet. I wonder if I should take another stab at The Corrections. Still, when it comes to reading, it's surprising to me how some great works fall flat to some, while to others they are remarkable. William Gay is a favorite of mine (and still living after all) and says his favorite book is Faulkner's As I Lay Dying, while to me, Gay's writing surpasses this particular Faulkner book.
