I don't think Democrats, including me, realized the depth that racism still permeated the so-called South.

Kentucky's Mitch McConnell's obsession with seeing to it that Obama is a one term president says it all. I believe racism had as much to do with the Republicans decision to become the party of 'NO' as did their knowledge that the economy was in such bad shape that Obama wasn't likely to make any vote-earning change before the mid-term elections came due.

One can argue to the contrary, it had nothing to do with racism at all, it has every thing to do with unseating a liberal president before any Supreme Court openings occur, most likely during the 2012-2015 presidential administration.

Strengthening this view is our knowledge that this years campaign season saw more money being spent than ever before bacause of the Supreme Court's decision to let corporations spend unlimited amounts while expressing their court recognized personhood's free speech.

We are two or three Supreme Court appointees away from allowing or being able to block a complete corporate takeover of our democracy.

Corporate facism here would do nothing more than further reduce wages for the middle class and continue to fill to hoarding-defined piles the coffers of corporate chiefs.
