it blew because it blew... totally confusing and nonsensical plot, misguided characterization, terrible dialogue, boring, boring, boring, mediocre at best.. i can't understand why so many people liked it, unless they were fan-boys of 'the dark knight,' which was also a snooze fest... seriously, my biggest disappointment of the year, perhaps because i never saw 'iron man 2' or 'sherlock holmes.' i took my kids to see it, expecting brilliance... they liked it... beats 'harry potter' films, i guess...
