I agree with you except for the last sentence. That's a real leap there. Do we even know for sure how
he's really being treated right now? I can say this about America: in the last year I've visited several
other countries in my work. These include Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Venezuela,
Brazil, U.K., France, Germany, and the Netherlands. America stacks up better than most of them and
even with the best, including the Netherlands. That's based on some anecdotal experience, to be sure,
but no place is perfect. I'll take the semi-protection of the US Constitution any day . . . which makes th
reports of "prisoner abuse" of Mr. Manning pretty disturbing.
