Just started this book. It is novel about the Vietnam war and so far (about 100 pages into it), it's a pretty damn good book. To me, the daunting thing about books like this when you open them and find maps of Vietnam and charts of who people are, I wonder how I'm going to follow all the places and characters, but so far he is introducing them in a way you can follow who they are and the places he is writing about. On a cringing note....not that it is giving anything away....during this December/January I was battling two kidney stones that ended up with having a stent placed in the nether regions...so reading about the character who has a leech crawl up the end of his penis has been very, very hard for me to read about.....
