He'll probably have to go, especially if some other major event doesn't drive him from the unrelenting eye of thorough-going twits like Wolf Blitzer. You can't just quit in a day or two, though. There are all kinds of considerations for your staff, ongoing work going on for the district that cruises through these offices. Plus, if he stays through the 15th, he probably gets his health care for the full month.

I don't care for charades like this. I happened to see Wolf's show with the sound off while in a bar (the only place I ever see cable news--when I don't have the remote to get rid of it) and they went on about this guy for a full 40 minutes, completely blowing off real stories that actually impact people. Yemen? What's that?

I've memorized the movie Network so none of this surprises me.

It's a horrible thing if you think about the story. A guy who is addicted to media and gets it tied to his sexuality and to his powerful job does all the wrong things and humiliates his pregnant wife who does important work for the State Department in an area where things are a little heady now. How sad that these little tech toys have made morons out of so many. This is a story I've heard before--tech cheaters. How sad.
