Icon Very possibly so....

For almost the entire lives of both parents and my sister, I watched them try to quit cigarettes many, many times. They never were able to do so. And one time a co-worker who smoked for a long time said he "just quit" and if he could, anyone. That type of attitude has always irked me.

People are complex and different machines full of all sorts of chemicals at wildly different levels.

It's like my own use of alcohol. I absolutely love the stuff and what it brings with it (except for the depression, the hangovers, the next day lethargy and the bullshit trouble that comes along with a less inhibited mind - that's why I chose to drink alone).

But like I typed earlier, over a year and a half ago I decided it was time for a break and this was after drinking more or less from the age of 16 or so. I consider myself one of the very fortunate ones that can do this and realize there are too many people who just can't for different reasons.

It's the leeches, scavengers and vultures I can't stand.....
