you are correct, sir. Stew, Miles and Ian grew up in Lebanon (quite different from AlAnon), where the King of Jordan was an occasional dinner guest. Miles, as we know, went on to IRS Records fame and fortune. there's a connection there, i just know it.
somehow he hooked up with Robbie Kreiger, they played a bit, it was smokin, then Stew, as he is prone to do, broke his elbow (his broken collarbone - from a polo accident - prevented the Police from doing a new album in '86. no big loss, i can hear some of you already...), and was replaced by Ty Dennis. Stew ended up suing the Doors for a cool mil, apparently they've settled without too many hard feelings, as Robbie was recently talking about using Stew for some future recordings. that might be interesting, but not as interesting to me as the double-drummer polyrhythms and general glorious discordant mayhem in SEX SLEEP EAT DRINK DREAM. so there.
