yes, it is wounded music, to be sure, bred of a wounded sensibility, full of venom, full of anger, perhaps hate. i was listening to harry chapin when i saw your post and linked to karen zoid... hard to believe it comes from the same place... i'm not sure i like it, per se, but it definitely has a more positive vibe than the other stuff... indigo girls meets midnight oil if you know what i mean...
have you read j. m. coetzee? if so, what do you think? if not, i find him an excellent south african writer...
