In what was a simultaneously maddening but exhilarating exercise, I cobbled together a list of my favorite 25 songs. There are undoubtedly some glaring omissions and eyebrow- raising inclusions (but that's what makes this fun, and personal). And truth be told, songs could fall out and others inserted an hour from now. I placed a limit of one song per artist.
