Where have I been...that's a good question.
Yeah, I'm not trying to make fun of people loving each other. I mean I think it would be great if the people in Iran and the people in Israel got together and had a giant orgy and BBQ with you know all the hugging, kissing, and creative use of BBQ sauce that would entail.
I guess the thing was, watching the video, it struck me as well...propaganda...but you know, dressed in a bunny suit.
My favorite part of the whole thing was at the end where the Belushi-like character is standing in the background holding the sign upside down. I guess I've grown into too much of a cynic and have been exposed to too much Nixonion style rat fucking in my life to take that sort of thing with anything less than a Mount Everest sized grain of salt.
But you know...yeah...I hope they all love each other. I'm all for that.
I am with you in not being the religious type, so pass the paganism and a pint of your best cider.
The other thing is, I do believe that it is self evident that us regular, unelected, not connected to supplying the world with energy, food, or a steady supply of Weapons of Mass Destruction folks want nothing to do with a war of any kind.
We do want to get up in the morning kiss our loved ones, drive them to school, report to our job, interact with a bunch of nice co-workers, go home at the end of the day, relax, watch a movie and drink the beverage of our choice.
And sure, we'd invite anybody over to enjoy this kind of thing with us and laugh and talk about art, music, film, and sports.
So let's hope that since we do all love this kind of thing and we are willing to share our love of this kind of thing, that the people that make a lot of money exploiting the fact that we love this kind of thing and providing us a world that allows us to love this kind of thing, are moved by our love of each other and these things not to start World War 3 to increase their profit margin.
Remember nothing creates a decrease in greenhouse gases faster than wiping another country off the map.
I don't care if you're not from Iran, I love you anyway.
