Loved the article.

Thought this might prove interesting as well. As much as the Romneystein's Monster campaign wants to present the right wing as being monolithic (literally, "having only one stone") and being behind Richie Rich, there are quite a few card-carrying members (and delegates) in the Republican party who will never, ever vote for that man.

I thought the selection of Paul Ryan (and the internet memes have already capitalized on the repetition of the name "Paul" quite a bit) was interesting because it seems clear that the RNC is somewhat worried about the RP group and what they'll get up to at the convention. Having an "Ayn Rand man" (though Paul Ryan wants to distance himself from that label) might go a long way toward courting the Ron Paul folks--if we were talking about pre-internet times. Now,I don't think it will work, but as I say, it was an interesting choice.

(Example of recent internet meme: "wRong Paul vs. Ron Paul.")

So, since Ron Paul's people have managed to hit the mark in terms of having five states with a plurality of delegates for their guy--which would mean that RP would have to be entered into nomination for candidacy, to be voted on--which would mean he would have a speaking position at the convention--and would also cause trouble in that all the Ron Paul delegates from the various states would be able to vote for him (as per very recent court ruling) instead of being bound to Richie Rich . . . well this sentence is already getting impossibly long.

The upshot is, the RNC is busting and moving. Busting its own rules, and moving the goal posts where it will.

Here's the video.

As always, I find this stuff fascinating.
