Briegel, James. Passed away peacefully in Montreal at the age of 96. A devotee of music his entire life, he had a career as a music teacher for the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal, particularly at Baron Byng High School, and played in popular bands in Montreal and the Laurentians in the 1930's and 1940's. Among his students were such Montreal luminaries as Oscar Peterson, Leonard Cohen and Mordecai Richler. A service will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 5610 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, QC, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Albert College, 160 Dundas Street West, Belleville, ON, K8P 1A6 would be appreciated.

So now..I know. Farewell, Jim. See you on the other side. I got a lotta work to do on those scales. Love, Eugene
