So glad you got to see him live, Big Al. I've brought ten or so of my fellow teachers to see Frank
and they've all become converts to one degree or another. The next day we were more than a
little sleep deprived in front of our students.I pretty much agree with all of Kathryn's assessment. Love, Ire and Song and England Keep My
Bones were far superior to his latest though it does have half a dozen really solid songs. As to
the bleak perspective he's been writing from, well, Frank's peripatetic ways aren't exactly
conducive to forming lasting relationships with women. Fortunately, I think he's waking up to the
temptations which the road offers as he has acknowledged cutting back on the drinking (though
not on those tats as we know). Do however go see him when next he hits your shores. Sure there
may be some obnoxious, testosterone-fueled jerks looking to mosh and stage dive, but the
communal joy that his shows generate will more than compensate you. With John by your side,
you'll be safe. :)Peter T. Did either of you ever check out the 3 bonus tracks from EKMB? Wanderlust, Song For Eva Mae,
and Balthazar, Impresario? I think you'll love all of them. Here Eva Mae:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Cw8pBCDzV4
