Kathryn did you see me in the crowd in the old grainy footage from the '98 show? No? I was there though... :)

That was a pretty special tour for many reasons... He really was treated like a hero/icon/treasure/superstar.

I saw him again earlier this year on a return visit and although it was still a great show, it was different as he is, of course, a much older man. In '98 he walked up and down the stage looking at us and smiling, waving, interacting with the members of Big Sky. This year he just stood at his mike hiding his eyes with the brim of his hat (I know his sight is going sadly)

And Searching For Sugarman was a great movie despite some inaccuracies and creative changes.

My brother's kids live in Wilderness, in the Cape, a few houses away from his daughter. (you see her and Sixto's grandson in the movie) She showed my brother the completed film a couple months before it aired at the film festivals. He texted me to tell me he was watching a movie about Rodriguez with Rodriguez's daughter... I thought he was having me on...
