When it's snowing, really snowing (as it is tonight), and really cold (it's 4 degrees and falling) I
often turn to New England's late, great singer/songwriter, Bill Morrissey. Robert Christgau really
nailed it when he said that Bill's great theme was how much men need to work and how much
they'd rather be doing something else. Should you be inclined to hear more of Bill, I heartily suggest: Birches, Barstow, Long Gone,
Inside, and well, oh hell, check out his "best of" collection:http://www.amazon.com/Essential-Collection-Bill-Morrissey/dp/B00022XDQE
Here's a nice introduction:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWaVE8DYDBwThere's a lot of miles in his voice.Peter T.
